SURFING THE CHAOS INTERVIEW:
I continue to be blown away by the podcasting community who are just a great group of generous and smart music lovers. Most recently I had the opportunity to be interview by Randy Maugans for his wonderful and edgy Surfing the Chaos podshow. Randy asked some interesting and different questions and you’ll definitely want to check it out. Click on the icon below:

I’m very pleased to have been chosen as the “Band of the Week” feature on BLOGCRITICS.ORG this week and I recently sat down for a lovely conversation and interview with the esteemed music writer A.L. Harper, whose recent interviews have included Dave Stewart (of Eurythmics fame), Razorlight, and hot new band Locksley. So read on and see why I’m called “urbane” and wonder, just like I did, what it means…

Anyone who knows the name Adam Curry knows that he has
always been on the cutting edge of music media. You
may remember him as one of the first VJ’s in the early
days of a little thing called MTV(!)…More recently,
Adam is known for bringing the medium of podcasting to
the forefront of the music industry, and has a podcast
that he created and hosts called the Daily Source
Code.
Adam is known as “The Podfather” (which is a GREAT!!!)
and I was honored to find out that he included one of
my songs on his show on Friday October 20th!!! Check
it out by clicking the icon. Subscribe and go to the
10/20/06 show.

I have to thank Jersey Todd, from The Jersey Todd Show
for being THE MAN and making this happen. If Adam
Curry is “The Podfather” then Jersey Todd is, well, if
I knew The Godfather better I’d make a funny
reference, but you know what I mean. Check out his
GREAT podcast by clicking the icon:

PETER GAMMONS . . .
We'd like to send our very best wishes and prayers to
good friend Peter Gammons. Peter suffered a brain
aneurysm earlier this week. He is, of course, a hall
of fame baseball journalist and a great friend to rock
'n roll. And as anyone who has come in contact with
him knows, he is a true gentleman as well.
Our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and complete
recovery go out to Peter. Hope to see him back at the
ballpark, and back on stage, soon!

“BOSTON CITY LIMITS” at Paddy O’s on Wednesdays
We’re playing every Wednesday night at Paddy O’s near Faneuil Hall in Boston (33 Union St.). The music starts at 9pm and in addition to the music we’ll be having different kind things like drawings giving away Red Sox tickets, with proceeds going to benefit The Jimmy Fund, drink specials, special guest musicians and bands, etc. It’s a bit of a work in progress, so were not exactly sure when these kinds of little goodies and extras will start up (don’t worry, we won’t be starting the Sox giveaways in November), but two things are for sure…..first, the music has begun! And second, there’s nothing like Faneuil Hall in the summertime!!!
Come down and check it out on a Wednesday night! (Please check the dates page of the website, as there might be some Wednesdays off)
FLY PHIL AYOUB AIRLINES???!!!
The song “No Heart Ache” was included in SAS Scandinavian Airlines In-Flight entertainment program! It was on their Country Music channel for the month of May along with songs from Faith Hill, Big & Rich, Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. No word on what kind of impact it had on tourism in Scandinavia…

THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME NUMBER TWO
“River to Ocean” selected for Musselman Triathlon Compilation CD. Selected as a top 25 finalist and received 2nd highest number of votes to be included on the CD.

MORE CD COMPILATIONS:
I’ve been fortunate enough to have been chosen for two forthcoming CD sampler compilations, and am in the running for a third.
*WMVY radio has chosen “Lying and Stealing” to be on their Fresh Produce vol. 2 CD compilation. No release date has been set, but more information will be coming soon, both here and on the website. Anyone that has heard this station knows how cool it is and how thrilled I am to be selected.
*Ground Control’s Boston Rockers for Life (prevention of drunk driving) has also chosen “Lying and Stealing” to be included on their CD sampler. There were 960 artists/bands who applied and 22 chosen. It’s a great cause and I’m happy to be a part of it. It is scheduled for a late-June release.
*I am in the running (pun-intended) for a spot on the 2006 Musselman Triathlon Festival & Compilation CD (maybe I should have said “in the running, swimming, and biking…”). The song is “River to Ocean” and its one of 25 finalists vying for 15 tracks on the disc. But I do need some help! It’s a voting process, so if anyone would like to cast a vote (or a few), please do so. You can actually vote once PER DAY if you'd like, so if you, you know, want to put it in your reminder calendar to do it every day....or if you really want to go crazy, you can do it from multiple emails as well. Just click on the link below:
http://www.sonicbids.com/voting/default.asp?poll_id=93
The voting ends on May 25th. As many of you know, I've worked very hard and it’s always been a dream of mine to, um, do a triathlon (???), be included on a triathlon sampler CD (???). Something like that….

STILL HUNGRY? HOW ABOUT A BIG HELPING OF “FULL-BAND
SHOW,” WITH A LITTLE SIDE OF “RADIO PLAY”…
Unofficial CD release party? Warm up show? Somewhere
in between?
We’ll be having our first full-band show on Thursday
December 8th at 8pm at The Times Bar in Boston. The
line-up will feature lead guitar, bass, drums, and
keyboards and will be the first time any of the new
songs have been played live in public by a band. Call
it an unofficial CD release party? Call it a warm-up
show? Probably call it somewhere in between.
Remember The Times? Of course you do. You know, I
used to think, just as you did, that The Times was
only fun when Riverside Train played there, but I have
a little secret for you guys….I’ve been there when
other bands have played, or a DJ, and its just as much
fun. Ok, not just as much, but its in the same
ballpark for sure. Dare I say that this show will be
as good as the old RST shows at The Times? No, of
course not. Those shows were legendary, like
Springsteen at The Stone Pony in the early ‘70’s. But
it will be a great night of new music, some oldies,
some covers, some Times burgers, and some good
Guinness. And an 8pm start, perfect to get home at a
decent hour on a school night.
For all the details, check out the Dates page.
Radio Radio
Schoolbus Window Paper Heart got its radio debut last
night (as far as I know it was its debut) when Big Jim
of 94 HJY in Providence played “No Heart Ache” on the
Soundcheck program (and he pronounced my name
correctly!).
Here’s the Soundcheck link, which includes the
playlist for each week’s show:
http://www.whjy.com/pages/soundcheck.html
If any of you guys happen to be listening on Sunday
nights, feel free to email Big Jim with a request at
bigjim@whjy.com
Please do me one favor, though, only contact him if
you actually can listen to the show. Although I would
appreciate dozens of emails clamoring for him to play
the song over and over and over again, like people did
when Elvis’ “That’s All Right” debuted (yes, they did
email…), I have a feeling that that wouldn’t go over
very well unless people actually listened as well.
I have to say, Jim plays some really good music on
that program. There’s a new Street Dogs song that I
like a lot, and also the Providence band ZOX has a
great new album out called The Wait. “Can’t Look
Down” is my favorite song from that one. It’s a great
one.
TV (REMEMBER IT ADDS 30 POUNDS):
I’m going to be performing back-to-back weeks on the Cambridge Cable Television Show “BeLive: Sunshine Foundation.” It will air live Thursday December 1, and Thursday December 8, from 4:30 to 5. It’ll be two different shows, with different songs played live. As it is currently planned, the show on the 1st will be solo, and the show on the 8th will be me, along with keyboard player extraordinaire Evan Harriman. You can tune in to channel 9 in Cambridge to see the shows. Here’s their website for more info:
http://www.cctvcambridge.org/
Important note: You all know how the saying goes…”TV adds 30 lbs.” So if any of you catch either of the shows, please keep that in mind…
